Today for a late lunch I went with several members of my family to Twisters Grill and Bar. A local restaurant, they are located at 13100 Kansas Avenue, Bonner Springs, KS. This is pretty easy to find, just take I-70 west to 7 Highway, then south to Kansas Ave. It's opposite a Super Wal-mart.
They're a bar and grill with all the kinds of foods you would come to expect. Burgers come in 1/4 pound, 1/2 pound, and a monster 1 pound size. I went with a 1/4th pound burger with pepperjack cheese this time. Before the meal we had some awesome mozzarella sticks which were cooked thoroughly (definitely not under-cooked like I seem to get at many places.)
The burger arrived not long after, with a plate of fries. The fries were rather tasty, with a good seasoning but not over done and cooked to a nice crispness. The burger was also cooked to a crispness, unfortunately this is not the quality of a great burger. The bun was nicely toasted and the pepperjack was very good, but the burger itself was way too cooked. The meat itself was of a good quality, if a little bland. I'd have to recommend making sure to order the burger medium so it's not so crispy. I rate it as a "Get It Again" with that little caveat.
That's it for me today. I'll be back soon with more plain sandwich reviews.

Bland Burger Blog
I'm a fan of the flavor of meat. I enjoy eating hamburgers with little to no toppings. So this blog is for those of us who like to order a sandwich at a restaurant PLAIN.

The Lone Star Burger
While the site may be under construction, the official first review has come.
Tonight's dinner was the cheese burger from Lone Star steak house at the Legends. Topped only with cheddar-jack on a white bun, it was a tasty meal. I ordered it medium well, because the waitress said that would be some pink. Sadly this was not the case, as there was not a single trace of pink in my burger. I'm a fan of a nice line of pink. The cheddar-jack was a wonderful addition to a subtly seasoned sandwich. It was not way too peppery (like the last steak I got at Lone Star.) While I'm not sure, my girlfriend thinks it may have been either a garlic or onion powder for seasoning. Either way it was a good balance with the meat and cheese.
I ordered steak fries for my side, and a Pepsi to drink. I would have preferred a Coke, but that's just my personal tastes. The fries were a little less cooked than I usually prefer, but they were quite tasty with a good amount of seasoning salt (but not too much.)
I won't be rating things on a numeric scale (no 1 to 5/10), instead all my reviews will simply be a positive or negative depending on how much I enjoyed my meal. The Lone Star burger rates a definite "Get it again," (as opposed to my "Order something else.")
This concludes my first review. I will be trying to make at least one post a week, depending on where I can go each week. And for the record, this blog will not only be burgers. Sandwiches of all types (that include meat) are fair game. See you later!
